Bio

Wayne Gilbert passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2011. He was born on November 27, 1921. Wayne was an Army Air Corps pilot during WWII. He moved to California in the late 40s. In 1960, he moved his family from Torrance to Vista where he lived for over 30 years before moving to Lake Elsinore. Wayne was a contractor who was known for his beautiful custom built homes in North County. He loved life and adored his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Pauline Gilbert; his daughter, Nancy Gilbert McCabe; sons-in-law, Keith McCabe and Danny Conway; and four wonderful grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Paula Gilbert Conway. Wayne was a wonderful man and will be dearly missed. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, December 12, at the Lake Elsinore Elks Lodge, 33700 Mission Trail,in Wildomar, Calif. Everyone is invited. He will be laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside. Published in North County Times on December 4, 2011
