Services for Eugene Hansford McDonald, 92, of Temple, Texas will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 18 at Edgar Funeral Home in Burnet. He was born in Youngsport, Texas on July 26, 1919 to William and Josie Kelly McDonald and died on Sunday, April 15, 2012 in Temple. After graduation from high school he enlisted and served proudly in the United States Army during WWII. He is survived by his children, James McDonald and his wife Virginia of The Meadows, Texas, Bettie Waggoner of Pleasanton, CA, Vicki Cox and her husband Joey of Burnet, Texas, Rudy McDonald and his wife Crickett of Leander, Texas, Richard McDonald and his wife Sally of Temple, Texas, Wanda Wolsch and her husband James of Leander, Texas, Wayne McDonald and his wife Anna of Maxwell, Texas, Eilleen Newstrom and her husband Carl of Elgin, Texas, Calleen Shaffer and husband Bill of Austin, Texas; daughter-in-law, Judy McDonald of Hillsboro, Oregon; twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Frances Gene McDonald; and son, Bobby Eugene McDonald.
