Bio

Frances Gene (Brooks) McDonald passed away at the age of 82 on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at her home in Temple, Texas. Frances was born July 25, 1928 in Sonora, Texas to Preston Brooks and Cora Slaughter Brooks. She graduated from Burnet High School and later moved to Austin with her spouse to raise their family. She was a retired secretary from the Austin State Hospital and Ridgetop Baptist Church. She later moved to Temple, Texas where she has resided for the last 15 years. Left behind to cherish her memory, and her greatest accomplishment, is her spouse and seven children: husband of 60 years, Eugene H. McDonald; children, Vicki Cox (Joey), Rudy McDonald (Cricket), Richard McDonald (Sally), Wanda Wolsch (James), Cory Wayne McDonald (Ana), Eileen Newstrom (Carl), Caleen Shafer (Bill); seventeen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Edgar Funeral Home at 109 N Main St. in Burnet, Texas. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at Edgar Funeral Home and burial to follow at the Burnet Cemetery in Burnet, Texas. Pallbearers are James McDonald, Richard McDonald, John Wolsch, Dewayne Arons, Cody Shafer, and Russell Cox.
