Bio

Buford Albert Hughes was born 8 September 1894 in Timpson, Shelby County, Texas to the parents William Henry Hughes 1871-1966 & Louvinda Ann Mitchell 1876-1943. Buford married in 1921 at Friona, Texas Lucy Mae Elton Brooks, daughter of Edward F. Elton & Effie Sinclair. Lucy was the mother of three children and Buford & Lucy went on to have two children of their own, Roy Elton & Wanda Ann Hughes. Lucy passed in 1946. Buford went on to marry Thelma Trimble in 1950. Buford was killed in an automobile accident 24 February 1955, and was buried in the Friona Cemetery, Friona, Parmer County, Texas.
