Shirley J. (Lester) Parker, 71, Belle Fourche, died Nov. 30, 2007, at Spearfish Regional Hospital. Shirley was born June 19, 1936, at Milbank, to Walter and Ruby Meyer. Shirley worked in hospitality for 30 years, 15 years at the Hop Scotch Bar and 15 years at the Chuckwagon in Fort Pierre. Shirley's love of horses made her an avid collector of statues and pictures. She was known only as "Grandma," the pint-sized powerhouse, to everyone who knew her. She loved watching her grandsons participate in high school rodeo and spending time with her family. She married Truman Parker on June 2, 1976, in Chamberlain. She is survived by her husband, Truman; her son, Glen (Cathy) Lester; daughters, Glenda (Steve) Nielson, Brenda (Mark) Benson, Jada (Jim) Udager; grandchildren, Shellie, Greg, Heather, Jenny, Amber, Nicole, Katie, Jason, Justin and six great-grandchildren; sister, Doris and stepchildren Cameron and Karleen Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings, one son, two granddaughters, and one great-grandson. There will be a memorial celebration at First Western Bank in Belle Fourche in the basement, Dec. 15, 2007. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Black Hills Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Sturgis. Friends who wish, may sign Shirley's online guest book at blackhillsfuneralhome.com.
