Susie E. Olson 07/14/1912 - 12/28/2006 Susie E. Olson, 94 of Gering, Nebraska died Thursday, December 28, 2006 at Heritage Estates in Gering.Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Gering Memorial Chapel with Pastor Linda Battello officiating. Interment will be at West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Tuesday 9:00 a.m. until service time at the chapel.Susie was born on July 14, 1912 in Lynch, Nebraska to Bert and Mamie (Kirwin) McCright. She graduated from high school in Lynch in 1932. She married Larry Olson on November 1, 1932 in Burke, South Dakota. They moved to the Scottsbluff area in 1939, then moved to Gering in 1940. They established the Gering Hotel Café in 1942 and remained in the restaurant business for 16 years. Later she worked at the Crown Lanes, running the snack bar for 16 years. She retired from the Gering Senior Center after working there for 13 years.She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Gering and the Eagles Lodge. She enjoyed her horse races and living in her home. She also was a great cook and housekeeper. She was a devoted wife, mom, grandmother and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.Survivors include her children: Elwin "Swede" Olson of Gering, Steve (Patti) Olson of Casper, Wy., Donalda (Robert) Raines of Fuquay Varina, NC, Vikki (Harley) Golden of Gering and Karen (Jack) Keller of Gering; son-in-law Jerry Kloppenborg of York, PA; 25 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, nine brothers and sisters, daughter Elaine Kloppenborg and great grandson Shawn Olson. Memorials may be given to do
