"Mrs. Jack Withers, 71, of Rosebud, died Wednesday in a Temple hospital after a short illness. Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday at Hoelscher Funeral Home, the Rev. Lee Roy Williams of Lott officiating. Burial was in Powers Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Withers was born in Milam County and had lived in Rosebud the past twenty years. Surviving are her husband; a son, Eldred Childers of Rosebud; three stepsons, Jack Withers, Jr. of Houston, Floyd Withers of Belton and James Withers of Copperas Cove; two step-daughters, Mrs. Richard Perry of Killeen and Mrs. Carl Anderson of Austin; a brother, Carl Patzke of Cedar Springs; four sisters, Mrs. Fred Armstrong of Porterville, Calif., Mrs. Bascom Nelson of Dimmitt, Mrs. Clarence Maxwell and Mrs. Elma Good, both of New Salem; and ten step-grandchildren."
