He and Maude were living at R. 4 Campbell, Hunt County, Texas. He was farming for himself at Campbell, Texas. Looney Of Commerce Dies; Last Rites Today Funeral services for George J. Looney, 78, of Commerce, father of Johnny R. Looney of this city, who died at 2 p.m. Wednesday in a commerce hospital, were held at 3 p.m. today at the First Methodist Church in Commerce. The Rev. Bruce Cobnett and the Rev. Willard Talley officiated. Burial was in the Brigham Cemetery near Campbell. Pallbearers were Alvis Mitchell, Francis Mitchell, Doyle Box, George Little, Winnie Holley, and Campbell Mahand. Arrangements were in charge of the Jones Funeral Home in Commerce. Born on May 31, 1877, Mr. Looney had resided in and around Cumby and Campbell for many years. He had been a resident of Commerce for the pat 17 years and was a member of the Congregational Methodist Church. Surviving are his widow and seven children, Mrs. Ethel Higginbotham, Dallas; Huit Looney, Wichita Falls; Mrs. Grace Taylor, Grand Prairie; Mrs. Argrea McReynolds, Lone Oak; T. J. Looney, Grand Prairie, J. R. Looney, Greenville; Junior Looney, Commerce; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Lon Looney Commerce, La.; and one sister, Mrs. Will Nick, Mansfield, La.
