Bio

Austin "Jim" H. Morgan passed away Nov. 11, 2011. He was born Oct. 19, 1914, in Millville, Utah. He was the son of Elizabeth B. and Ernest L. Morgan. Jim graduated from South Cache High School. He married Marjorie Hancey on Feb. 20, 1936. Jim was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and he worked in the MIA and was on the genealogy committee for several years. He also attended the temple for several years. Jim worked for Logan city for 29 years as a diesel operator and 13 years as manager of Logan City Cemetery. He worked part-time for Joe Jacobsen Construction Company. Jim loved the outdoors and loved being in the mountains in his jeep and snowmobile. He took his jeep to the top of Mt. Logan (his was the first motorized vehicle to the top). He and Marj enjoyed traveling by plane, car, train, boat or trailer throughout the world. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marj; and a son, Howard Lee. He was the last of nine children born to Elizabeth and Ernest. His siblings who preceded him in death were Rula, Elva, Erma, Elwood, Zelda, Ines, Darwin and Delton; as well as a grandson, Howard William Hunt. He is survived by five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St. At the request of the deceased, only a graveside service will be held at noon at the Logan City Cemetery. The family would like to thank the care providers at the Cache Valley Living Center in Providence, Terrace Grove and Alpine Hospice for their loving care.
