Married Jul 8 1935 Elyria, Valley, NE ---------------------------------------- Saturday Rites For Mrs. Welniak Florentina Welniak was born February 22, 1912, in Loup City, Nebraska to Andrew and Sophie Otlewski Sydzyik and died February 9, 1984 in the Valley County Hospital at Ord, Nebraska at the age of 71. Florentina attended rural school near Loup City. She married Cash Welniak on July 8, 1935 in Elyria. They farmed on mile east of Elyria, moving to Ord in March of 1982. While on the farm, Mrs. Welniak acted as a mother to many young people, including three nieces Dian Wilson, Donna Miles and Georgia Searle, who spent many summers on the farm. Mrs. Welniak had been an active member of the Fort Hartsuff Saddle Club and the former St. Mary's Catholic Church in Elyria. Survivors include her husband; a foster son, Thurman Garner of Burwell; four brothers, Walt Sydzyik, Harold Sydzyik, Joe Sydzyik, all of Ord, and Donald Sydzyik of Council bluffs, IA; one sister, Margaret Bialy of Omaha; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter and one brother. Services were held February 10, 1984 at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church with Father Stanley Gorak officiating.
