Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent February 1978 William "Ted" Shupp, 75, of Kuester's Lake died Sunday evening at a local hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. The Revs. George Roach and Dean Peak will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Shupp was born June 3, 1902, at Callaway, the son of William and Mabel Burdette Shupp. He received his education at Callaway and attended Grand Island Business College. He was a bricklayer and was superintendent for John Claussen Sons contractors for 20 years. He retired in 1964. On April 21, 1925, he married Ruby Lyons in Broken Bow. They made their home in Grand Island. Mr. Shupp was baptized and confirmed in the Episcopal faith and belonged to St. Stephen's Church. He was affiliated with the Platt-Duetsche and Liederkranz societies and was a gold card member of Bricklayers International Union Local No. 8 in Grand Island. Survivors include his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Rudolph Pokorney of Grand Island; a sister, Mrs. Clarence (Vera) Stephenson of Callaway, and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and one grandson.
