Bio

Richard "Dick" Stanford was born April 3, 1922 in Valliant , OK , the son of Quincy Stanford and Mattie (Savage) Stanford and was a lifelong resident of the Valliant area. His parents preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Richard Stanford, two brothers, Leon Stanford and James Stanford and one sister, Margaret Pruitt. Dick was a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church , Valliant. Before entering the U.S. Army in 1942, he was a member of the CCC Camp (Civilian Conservation Corp), building structures in Hugo and Colorado . He married Billie Jean Emery on February 25, 1974 in Clarksville , TX . SURVIVORS INCLUDE: His wife, Billie Jean Stanford; two sons, Radford Stanford of Broken Bow, OK and Bill Stanford of Ft. Towson, OK; one daughter, LaVonne Stanford of Hitchita, OK; stepson, Harold Melton of Antlers, OK and step daughter, Teresa Kellett of Antlers, OK; 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild (on the way
