Reed Hipke service held Reed Emmett Hipke son of Roy and Sophia Hipke, was born at Clarks April 18, 1918 and passed away Dec 27, 1978 at his home south of Johnstown. When Reed was five, he moved with his family to a farm just south of Atkinson. Four years later they moved to a place north of Stuart where he grew to manhood. In 1943 he moved with his mother, brother, George and younger brothers and sisters to a ranch south of Johnstown where he lived ever since. Reed was preceded in death by his father in 1941 and brother Gordon in 1935. He is survived by his mother, Sophie Hipke of Ainsworth, brothers, Lester of Noble, MO, Russell of Stuart, George of Johnstown, John of O'Neill, Neil of Spencer, Dale of Tyler, Tex., and Zane of Grand Island,two sisters, Goldie Kelley, Fairfield, Wash. and Sylvia Strong of Hallsville, Mo. plus the husbands, wives and families, other relatives and many friends. The Rev William Armold officiating services Dec 28 at the Hoch Funeral Home in Ainsworth. Pallbearers were Allan Boyd, Glen Koch, Ben Burdick, Kenneth Pelc, Charles Hughes and Edwin Baxter. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery at Atkinson.
