Thomas-Towery, C. Ethel Passed away peacefully Oct. 24, 2011. Born Dec. 15, 1920 to Robert Gordon Mowat and Ethel Cloyd Johnson in Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by her husbands; Luther E. Towery, US Army Ret. and Claude B. Thomas. She was the fourth of seven daughters; Robert Van Deusen, Fidelis Hampton, Catherine Belden (surviving), Nancy Dorbandt, Bobra Harris and Blanche Stanley. She is survived by her loving children Robert M. Towery of Emmett, ID, Kathlyn D. O'Bryant of Bulverde TX and Deborah Thomas of Garland TX; along with six grandchildren, thirteen grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Beautiful Charlotte, also named Cha Cha by her sisters, began her odyssey as a military wife in 1940 with her marriage to the handsome young Captain Gene. They were stationed in Okinawa twice and then in Metz, France. Her many experiences traveling rounded and matured her into a sophisticated, independent and strong woman, who appreciated learning and assimilating the various cultural aspects of all the world around her, while always remaining a loyal patriotic American. She had a wonderful sense of humor and zest for life, and deep love and compassion for her family and friends. She loved gardening, quilting, crafting and was an exceptional artist. Her home was her center, and was always decorated beautifully, and she was a gracious hostess at her many gatherings. Charlotte was above all a devoted wife, and her life with C.B was dedicated to him, their church, and his family, Steve Thomas and Donna Thomas. To all her extended family she was a wonderful mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. Charlotte was a devout Christian who studied The Word faithfully, served at her church and had a profound personal relationship with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We have no doubt that she is now with her Heavenly Father; but she will be truly missed by all those who have had the blessing of knowing her here on this earth. ∼ Wife of Luther E Towery LT COL US Army
