Funeral for Vernon Woodrow Brown, 79, who died March 24, 1994, at his residence in Durant,will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Coleman Avenue Church of Christ in Colbert. Quinton Gage will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memory under the direction of Bryan County Funeral Service. Mr. Brown was born December 19,1914 in Hendrix,Oklahoma,son of James and Agatha Wyatt Brown. He married Vernice Grider November 17, 1938 in Calera, Oklahoma. He attended Colbert schools and was a member of Coleman Avenue Church of Christ. He was a farmer. He was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Loyd Brown, on July 3,1941. Survivors include his wife of Durant; three sons Jimmy Brown of Plano, Texas, Mark Brown of Durant, Oklahoma and Michael Brown of Calera, Oklahoma; five daughters Carol Howell of Phoenix, Arizona, Linda Powell of Durant, Oklahoma, Sandra Fowler and Geanie Bradley of Denison, Texas and Debbie Felder of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one sister Hazel Parks of Denison, Texas; seventeen grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
