Barbara Jean Oaks Barbara Jean Oaks, 72, of Caldwell, passed away at her residence on, Tuesday, March 21, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today, (Thursday) March 23, 2006 at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell. A dinner will follow the committal at Eagles Aries #3691, Caldwell. Barbara was born Dec. 4, 1933 in Caldwell to May Velma Wilson of Caldwell and attended Dixie area school. She married Charles Oaks 25 years ago. They have shared a very big family and have been involved in community events. She was an active member of the Caldwell Lady Eagles and last spring, she was given the lifetime award of Mother of the Year for the State of Idaho. Her time was spent organizing many charity fundraisers, local and statewide. She was very busy until this past year when her health began to slow her down. She was employed at J.R. Simplots from 1955 until the mid 1980s. She retired and became our local Avon Lady until the fate 90s. The past few years, she and her husband have enjoyed the golden years watching football, soaps and game shows. Barbara is survived by her husband, Chuck Oaks of Caldwell; her son, Dewayne V. Dibben of Caldwell; her daughter, Iola L. Combs and husband Tracy of Caldwell; her daughter, Velma J, Smith and husband Mike of Greenleaf; her step-son, Randy Oaks of Caldwell; step-daughters, Becky Watkins and husband Randy of Nampa, Brenda Erskine and husband Jeff of Caldwell; grandchildren, James Otto and wife Penny of Tolleson, Ariz., Barbara Smith of Caldwell, David Smith of Greenleaf, step-grandchildren, Eric Cobiskey and wife Amanda of Caldwell, Jessica DuBose of Caldwell, Jazmin and Marissa Oaks of Caldwell, Allyssa Watkins of Nampa, Caleb, Casey and Callen Erskine of Caldwell, Austin and Savannah Cobiskey of Caldwell and Damian Glasgow of Caldwell; great-grandchIldren, Jaired, Jordan and Jacob Otto of Caldwell; a brother and his wife, Lee and Karen Nichols of Nampa and a sister, Betty Davis of Caldwell. Barbara had many nieces and nephews and many children through the years that have called her Mom and Aunt Barb. She will be remembered for her open head and the kindness she showed to ail who came to her home to share special occasions. Barbara will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
