Wife of Eli Gilliland Father: Henry Speir Mother: Jane Henderson D/C informant: Mrs. J. E. Walker __________________________________ Obituary in Lufkin Daily News, Feb. 4, 1929 Mrs. Henrietta K. Gilliland, 75, died early Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. E. Walker on North First St. She had been ill of influenza for some time. Mrs. Gilliland moved with her parents to Angelina County in 1857 and had lived here continuously since that time. She married Eli Gilliland in 1871. He died in October 1920. She became a member of the Baptist church in 1874. Mrs. Gilliland is survived by 4 children; Burk Gilliland, Sam Gilliland, Mrs. J. E. Walker and Mrs. J. E. Sharp. Funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. Walker at 2 p.m. Monday, with Rev. J. R. Nutt and Rev. J. N. Wooten officiating. Burial was in the Huntington Cemetery under direction of Humason-Berry Funeral Home. __________________________________
