Bio

Ruth Walker, age 77, died Saturday, Mar. 25, 1989 at the Converse County Memorial Hospital following a short illness. She was born July 10, 1911 in Ord, Nebraska, the daughter of Ambrose and Mary (Lybarger) Blakeslee. She was reared and educated in Arcadia, Nebraska. On Aug. 25, 1939, she married Elbert B. Walker at Ord. During their marriage they owned and operated several restaurants. In the 1970s they operated the Wrangler Café in Douglas. She retired in 1979, and moved with her husband to Oregon. In 1982 they returned to Douglas where she lived until the time of her death. She is survived by her husband Bert Walker of Douglas; and one daughter, Mary J. Walker also of Douglas.
