Daughter of Abraham Kern and Margaret Green Smith. Wife of George Shawver. Mother of Lou Anna, John, Grace, Ilda, Nell, Edward and Dorothy. Siblings, Marcella, Marshall, Emily Alice, Lawrence, Elliot, Elmer, Gordan. Dora came with her family to Mesquite,Texas from Indiana in 1888 to become a school teacher.
