THE PARIS NEWS, Oct. 23, 2011, page 9A. - John Dock Rainey of Cooper passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, in Sulphur Springs. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Delta Funeral Home Chapel in Cooper. The Rev. Calvin Turnage will officiate with interment following in Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6-6 p.m. Mr. Rainey was born Sept. 21, 1926, in Klondike. He was the son of Andrew Columbus Rainey and Beulah Ida Sims Rainey. On May 26, 1955, he married Mary Francis Crumbley, who survives. He was retired from East Texas State University as a building attendant. He was a lifelong resident of Delta County. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Mary Francis Rainey of Cooper; sons, John Wayne Rainey and wife, Dinah, of Greenville, Andy James Rainey of Cooper and Robert Douglas Rainey of Cooper; seven grandchildren, Amy, Joshua, Zachary, Tasha, Randy Samantha and Kolton; eight great-grandchildren, Austin, Noah, Jacob, Jakota, Jesse, Alexis, Randy and Shaelee; brother, Buckner Rainey and wife, Audrey Faye, of Klondike; and sister, Doris Thetford of Denton.
