NOTE: There are inconsistencies with this name . Please do your own research! Stone appears to read "aged 26 Yr's, 3 M's, 26 D's." ... meaning she was approx age 26 when she died, not 36. ________________ NOTE NOTE: Suggested comment: "Beaulah is attached to the wrong John Pettit . The John Pettit currently attached (now removed) was born and died in New Jersey. He was not married and having children at the age of 19 in Ohio." ............... Current manager of memorial believes this happened when another memorial was merged with John Pettit b.1796, #14245458, the formerly linked father. The memorial merged, and lost, was born 2 Jan 1773 in New Jersey, died 24 April 1858 Morgan County, Ohio (per previous data on merged/lost memorial). ------- NOTE: July 2025 memorial has been re-entered and re-linked to assumed correct John Pettit 1773-1858. It should also be noted that a John Pettit, b.1773, from New Jersey, did marry a Sarah Morris/Maurace, b.1785, in Burlington, New Jersey, 16 Jan 1800 . John Pettit and Sarah Morris are assumed parents to this memorial of Beaulah Elizabeth Pettit Appleman by all research submitted. ________________ Bulah was born December 20, 1815, in Morgan County, Ohio, daughter of John Pettit and Sarah Morris. She died April 15, 1852, and is buried in the Bur Zion Cemetery, Portersville, Perry County, Ohio. On March 3, 1836 Bulah married Jesse Appleman in Morgan County, Ohio. Jessie was born February 8, 1815, in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, son of George Appleman and Margaret Cox. He died April 13, 1893, in Vernon Co., Wis. Jesse was married four times and had 16 children by his first three wives. His children by Bulah were: Lucinda, b. May 6, 1838, Morgan County, Ohio. Elizabeth, who married Lafayette Richardson & Henry Smith. Margaret, who married Henry Bausman. John William, born in Ohio in 1844. Mary, who married John Parr. Sarah Ellen, born 1849, in Ohio, who married William Wakeman. Caroline Appleman, who died in infancy. 1850 U.S. Census, Deerfield Township, Morgan County, Ohio, September 26, 1850, Page 219, Line 33, Family 1577/1577. In that census Jesse Appleman was listed as a 34 year old Pennsylvania born farmer with $1500 worth of real estate and living with his 34 year old wife Bulah and their six children: 12 year old Lucinda; 10 year old Elizabeth; 8 year old Margaret; 6 year old John; 4 year old Mary and 1 year old Susan Appleman.
