Sarah was born July 18, 1818 in New Jersey. She is the daughter of John Pettit and Sarah Morris and is the sibling of Anna (Pettit) Saylor, William Pettit, Allen Pettit, Mary Pettit, Job Pettit, John Pettit, Samuel Pettit, Beulah Elizabeth (Pettit) Appleman, Susan Pettit and David Pettit. She married Daniel Thomas McNally on January 14, 1836 in Morgan County, Ohio and is the mother of John William McNally, Thomas D. McNally and Donald McNally. It is believed that Sarah passed over on December 30, 1845 in Morgan County, Ohio.
