Funeral services for Leslie D. Burkham "L. D.", age 73, of Dike, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with officiating. Interment will follow at Connor Cemetery with serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 24, 2011 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mr. Burkham passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Burkham was born on April 8, 1938 in Dike, TX, the son of Elvis and Juanita (Kerns) Burkham. Mr. Burkham was a truck driver for over 33 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Union #745. He will be remembered by his children as a most loving and thoughtful father a child could have. He is survived by his daughters, Debra Burkham of Mena, AR, Bonnie Fleeman and Jesse of Venus, TX, Jackie and Melanie of Euless, TX, sister, Elona Midkiff of Little Elms, TX, brother, Bill Burkham and wife Dorothy of Dallas, TX, grandchildren, Michael Slay of The Colony, TX, Ida Villareal of Perryville, TX, Kevin Mills and Kim of Calliburg, TX, Cherishe Baker and Toye of Hendricks, OH, Cory Fleeman and wife Shirley of Wilmer, TX, Lori Starks of Benbrook, TX, Casey Fleeman of Venus, TX, Brandi Oliva of Dallas, TX, Megan Burkham of Cleburn, TX, Ashley Burkham of Sulphur Springs, Adrianna Garber of Euless, TX, 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, special friend, Charles Sims. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandchild, Amber Burkham, son David Burkham and wife Mary, great-grandchild, Hunter Wolfe, first wife of 28 years, Shirley Jo Burkham and 2nd wife 18 years, Phyllis Ann Burkham.
