Services for Marvin V. Strother will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Hixson Bros., Pineville with the Rev. W.D. Carson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Pineville. Strother, 68, of Ball died at 9 p.m. Wednesday in Rapides General Hospital. He was a native of Oakdale and a field representative for Olan Matheson. He was a retired state employee, having worked as a fraud investigator for the Department of Health and Human Resources. He was a member of Pinehurst Baptist Church and a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Ruthe H. Strother of Ball; four sons, Adrian V. Strother of Ocala, Fla., Don R. Strother and Barry M. Strother, both of Ball, and Bryan A. Strother of Kolin; one daughter, Kathy Strother Brown of Las Vegas, Nev.; one brother, Billy R. Strother of LaPlace; two sisters, Clio S. Clark of Bullard, Texas, and Joy S. Biggs of Sacramento, Calif.; and nine grandchildren. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until time of services Saturday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
