Billy Ray Strother December 18, 1931 - July 29, 2025 Memorial services for Mr. Billy Ray Strother will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 9, 2025, in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, Louisiana with Reverend Frank Peacock officiating, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, Louisiana. Mr. Strother, 93, of Montgomery, Louisiana entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Hilltop Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pineville, LA. Billy was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He found great joy in gardening and working in his yard. He was an avid traveler who cherished camping trips and time spent in nature. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Strother, Sr. and Edith Strother; two brothers, Marvin Strother, Jr. and Wayne Strother; and one sister, Joyce Biggs. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of seventy-two years, Dorothy Strother of Montgomery; two sons, Paul Strother (Deborah) of Pollock, and Phillip Strother (Melissa) of Cypress, Texas; one daughter, Roseanna Strother Mire of Destrehan; one sister, Clio Clark of Bullard, Texas; one grandson, Johnny Mire (Stephanie); three granddaughters, Lauren Bodie (Scott), Dawn Konnerup (Randy), and Alyssa Strother; and six great grandchildren. A time of visitation will be held in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. www.rushfh.com
