Daughter of John DYER JUSTICE and Sarah NETTLES. Married Jesse Madison Taylor on Aug 9, 1853, at Jobe, Oregon Co., MO. FYI: 3 JUSTICE sisters married 3 TAYLOR brothers. ∼ A remembrance from granddaughter, Bernice SCONCE FOULKE, states: "I remember my Grandma Betsy TAYLOR's death well, 2 January 1916. We lived at Ravenden Springs, Arkansas, a deep snow on the ground and mother in bed with the flu. My Aunt Leonia Marriott lived at Ravenden Springs too. No telephone service between Myrtle and Ravenden Springs, but news came that Grandma had pneumonia and Aunt Leonia rode a horse sidesaddle to be with Grandma and Grandpa. Finally when we could get no news of Grandma, Mother [Aunt Zudie] got out of bed and Dad [Uncle James] started with all of us in a hack to Myrtle in a deep snow. Somewhere up toward Farewell [MO], we met Aunt Leonia with news that Grandma was already buried." She also remembered that "Betsy was a kind and patient lady, very submissive to her husband. She could shoot a chicken hawk or a squirrel, could card wool, spin, and knit. She would weave carpets on the loom she once used to weave cloth. She liked to gather herbs for medicinal purposes, gather wild greens, or search for a turkey's nest." ∼ Their children were: John Jefferson (Died as Infant) (1854-1854) James Elijah (1856-1935) William Thomas (1859-1925) Nancy C. (1862-1896) Mary Angeline (1865-1944) Margaret L. (1868-1959) Matilda J. [Tilda] (1870-1962) Missouri A. [Zudie] (1874-1949) Carolina Arizona E. [Zonie] (1877-1918) Martha S. E.
