POCAHOTNTAS - Robert "Bob" Kordik Jr. age 42, of Pocahontas, passed away Monday, October 3, 2011,at his home near Pocahontas, Iowa after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Funeral Services - 10:30 AM, Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, at the Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church in Pocahontas, with Fr. Dennis Sefcik officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Pocahontas, Iowa. Visitation is from 4 7 PM Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at the Powers Funeral Home in Pocahontas, IA. Robert Joseph Kordik Jr. was born October 14, 1968, in Pocahontas, Iowa. He was the son of Robert and Kay (Fogerty) Kordik. Bob graduated from Pocahontas High School in 1987. He settled near Pocahontas where he was dedicated to being the best farmer he could be. He enjoyed "tinkering" and working on trucks and all kinds of machinery. Survivors include his fiance, Kathy Hiatt; mother, Kay Kordik of Pocahontas; sister, Joan (Craig) Kramer of La Vista, NE and numerous other family and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert Kordik and grandparents, Stanley & Emma Kordik and James & Rose Fogerty.
