Hillsboro Reporter Thursday, August 14, 2003 CUMA ALLEN Cuma Allen, 80, of Clifton died Sunday, August 10, 2003 at a Clifton hospital. She was born December 9, 1922 in Whitney, daughter of Rollan H. and Dova Ward Shelley, where she grew up and lived until several years ago. A graduate of Whitney High School, she worked during elections for 52 years, serving as an election judge for some of that time. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Whitney. She married Samuel Bush April 8, 1943, and he preceded her in death November 22, 1944. She married Willard Allen December 31, 1949, and he preceded her in death November 20, 1980. Survivors include: one daughter, Nelda Jo Kettler and husband, Smokey, of Clifton; one sister, Barbara Miles of Dallas; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one niece; and one great-nephew. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney with Rev. W. L. Walker and Rev. John Carl officiating. Burial was at Bethlehem Cemetery near Whitney.
