Hillsboro Evening Mirror Friday, October 15, 1937 Mrs. Missouri E. Cantrell Mrs. Missouri E. Cantrell, widow of the late J. C. Cantrell, passed away at the family residence near Vaughan at 5:50 o'clock, Thursday afternoon, October 14, aged 60 year. Funeral services will be held at the Vaughan Baptist church at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. M. A. Marshall of Houston, Rev. Howard Bryant of Fort Worth and Rev. Earl Hite of Waco. Interment will be in Bell cemetery near Vaughan. Mrs. Cantrell was born in the state of Mississippi, February 11, 1878. She came to Texas in 1882. the family locating near Whitney, residing there until 32 years ago when she moved to the Vaughan community and had made her home there since. She was married to J. C. Cantrell February 11, 1900. Mr. Cantrell passed away June 5, 1936. Mrs. Cantrell was a charter member of the Vaughan Baptist church and had held her membership there for the past 24 years. Surviving are two children, Grover Cantrell of Hillsboro and Miss Mae Cantrell of Vaughan; one grandchild, and one half-brother, O. L. Bennett of Plainview, and one half-sister, Mrs. Jim Griffith of Bethel.
