Bio

"Sadie J. Patterson, 84, Savannah, died January 16, 2003, in St Joseph. She was born May 26, 1918, in Nodaway, Mo. She was a lifelong resident of Andrew County and had attended rural schools there. Sadie had been a member of the Savannah United Methodist Church since 1934 and had been very active in church activities for many years. She was an avid gardener. She married Jesse O. Patterson, Sr., in 1934 and they operated a family farm for many years. Jesse preceded her in death in 1972. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Godfrey and Ora Belle (McGuire) Miller; five brothers, Frank, Godfrey, Joe, Ernest and Wylie; and two sisters, Susie Lyon and Annis Callen. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Wright of Savannah; two sons, Jesse Jr., of Perkins, Oklahoma, and Harold of Van Alstyne, Texas; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2003, at Breit & Hawkins Funeral Home, Savannah. Interment was in Savannah Cemetery."
