"Annis F. Callen, 79, St. Joseph, MO., died Sunday, Sept. 10, 1995, at a St. Joseph hospital. Mrs. Callen had been employed by the Big Smith Co. and Ely & Walker, both of St. Joseph, retiring in 1950. She also was a homemaker. Born Feb. 13, 1916, in Nodaway, Mo., she had lived in Oregon, Mo., before moving to St. Joseph in 1977. She was a member of the Pony Express CB Club and the 1-9er's CB Club, both of St. Joseph. Mrs. Callen was a Christian. In 1932, she married Jesse D. Callen. He survives of the home. Mrs. Callen was preceded in death by four brothers, Ernest, Frank, Godfrey and Joe Miller; and a sister, Daisy Miller. Additional survivors: a brother, Wiley Miller, St. Joseph, and two sisters, Susie Lyons, St. Joseph and Sadie Patterson, Savannah, MO. Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Burial: memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO. Source: Newspaper Clipping/Holt County Missouri Historical Society, Mound City, MO.
