Henry Charles Poppe son of Fritz and Elizabeth Poppe.Henry Charles Poppe married Erna Froehlich on December 1,1904. _______________________________ Final Rites for Henry C. Poppe, 79, Held Monday Funeral services for Henry Charles Poppe,79,retired farmer and lifelong resident of the Weimar area,were held Monday afternoon,Feb. 25,at Hubbard Funeral Home,with Rev.F.H. Horak Jr. Officiating. Interment was in Weimar Masonic Cemetery. Mr.Poppe died at his home in the New Bielau section Saturday night,Feb 23,after two days' illness. Born Dec. 13,1877,at New Bielau,he was the son of Fritz and Elizabeth Poppe.He married Miss Erna Froehlich in 1904.she survives him,along with two daughters,Mrs.Edna Ulbricht of Weimar and Miss Norma Poppe of Schulenburg;three sons,Ben and Walter of Weimar and Lawrence of Sheridan;9 grandchildren;and 2 great-grandchildren;four sisters,Mrs.Sophia Hasse of Winters,Mrs.Minnie Woltersdorf of San Antonio,Mrs.Gus Dahse and Mrs.Herman Paweleck of Weimar;and one brother,Helmuth Poppe of Sublime. Pallbearers were Ernest Lichey,Ernest Scott,Rudy Gold,Walter Rutledge,Hugo Ulbricht,Walter Lee Kram,Emil Dahse and Milroy Hoegemeyer. Weimar Mercury,March 1,1957,page 1
