Bio
Funeral services for John J. Powers, 60, who died at 5 o'clock Sunday afternoon at his home, 1930 Grank, will be held at 3:30 Monday afternoon at the Magnolia Avenue Baptist church. The Rev. L.D. White, pastor of this church, and the Rev. A.A. Tharp, pastor of the North End Methodist church, will officiate. Pallbearers are to be: J.D. Adams, G.T. Adams, W.S. Oldham, Norman Hodges, R.E. Richardson, and J.D. Jones. Interment will be in Magnolia cemetery under the direction of Roberts Undertaking company. Surviving are his wife, four daughters, Mrs. W.C. Bookman, Houston, Mrs. F.H. Pintsch, Scott's Bluff, Neb., Miss Willie and Wanda Powers, Beaumont; one son, K.W. Powers, Port Arthur, and seven grandchildren. Beaumont Journal, July 30, 1928 J.J.
