Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Lawton, OK. The family will greet friends Friday evening from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home. Casper Riley, 89, Forestburg, TX passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at his home. He was born July 10, 1927 in Lawton to James Benson “Shake” and Ethel Orene (Cowley) Riley. He was raised in Lawton with his six brothers and three sisters. If you knew the Rileys, you had at one point been on the receiving end of one of their many pranks. Casper carried on that family tradition throughout his life, and never lost the joy of getting one over on you or giving you a good laugh. In 1945 he was drafted into the US Army and served until the end of WW II. After his service he went to work for People’s Ice Company, where he delivered 100lb bags of ice to businesses all over Lawton. It was during this time that he met and married his wife Patsy Anderson. They were married August 11, 1951 in Lawton. She passed away May 2, 1996. In 1960 they moved to Dallas where he went to work for Mobil Oil Co. until he got his own service station in Irving that he operated for 27 years. After his retirement they retired to Springtown, TX. He was always there for any friend or relative who needed a job or help to get on their feet. Many times he even opened up his home for those in need. He grew up in a time where he had very little, and never forgot that as he grew older. He was known best by many for the stories he told of his youth and growing up. Casper was very mechanically inclined, and often tinkered with anything he could take apart and put back together. He was very good at this. In his later years he loved to garden, but his world revolved around his grandsons and great grandchildren. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law: Steve and Valerie Riley of Forestburg, TX, 3 grandsons: Jacob Riley of Texas, Jeff Riley and Maxine of Portland, OR, Jeremy Riley and Bree of Ozona, TX, 4 great grandchildren: Christian Riley, Noble Riley, GiGi Riley, Shake Riley and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by: Parents, his wife Patsy, a son Johnny Riley and 9 siblings: Walter Riley and wife Francis, Verlon Riley, Truman Riley and wife Irene, Kenneth Riley and wife Dorothy, Troy Riley, Leo Riley, Opal Moore and husband Pee Wee, Tressie Rhodes and husband Tink and Mildred Ellis and husband Jimmy.
