VICTIM OF AUTO ACCIDENT BURIED AT RICE FRIDAY RICE, Jan. 4. - Funeral services for J. H. Wolverton, 20, who died in an Ennis hospital early Friday morning from injuries received Christmas Day when a car driven by two negroes collided with a car parked on the highway near Rice, were held here Friday afternoon with interment in the Rice Cemetery. John Smith also was severely injured in the accident but was able to return to his home here. Mr. Wolverton was born at Mabank but had resided here for the past eight years. He was employed at the Earnest Boardman refinery two and one-half miles south of Rice. The two negroes in the other car figuring in the accident are being held in jail at Corsicana. Surviving Mr. Wolverton are his wife, two daughters, Bobbie and Willie Jane, parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Wolverton, two brothers, F. A. and Albert, Jr., and a sister, Miss Velma Lee Wolverton, all of Rice.
