When Emily Carolyn Ermis was born on 15 July 1920, in Dreyer, Gonzales, Texas, United States, her father, Vincent James Ermis, was 35 and her mother, Emilia Svoboda, was 32. She married Albin Charles "Bub" Rooker on 8 January 1941, in Wharton, Texas, United States. She lived in El Campo, Bolívar, Venezuela in 2000. She died on 24 June 2005, at the age of 84, and was buried in Garden of Memories, El Campo, Wharton, Texas, United States.
