Bio
According to the obit for Mrs Ida Mae Douglas in the Abilene Reporter News, her and Hiram R Darter were married on December 1, 1920 in Johnston County, Ok. He (Hiram) died on November 13, 1926 and she then married I.N. Douglas. Ida Mae and Hiram R Carter had at least one son, Elwin G Darter who died Feb 5, 1963 (according to Ida Mae's obit). Also, according to the June 22, 1956 issue of the Abilene Reporter, a marriage between Marilyn Laverne Darter and Claude E story took place in June 1956. The article states that her mother was Mrs. I.N. Douglas and her father was the late "Hiram R Darter". So Hiram Darter, Jr also had at least one daughter that we are aware of. In regard to Hiram Jr's date of birth, the 1910 census has him being born in 1899; the 1920 census has him born in 1901. His year of birth can't be read on his headstone.
