Ervin Calhoun Ret. District Chief SFD MISSOURI CITY, TX - Services for Ervin Calhoun, Ret. District Chief SFD, 77, were held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 13, 1993 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating was Bro. Milton Wilson, with the Eldridge Road Church of Christ, Missouri City, Texas. Burial was in Forest Park Cemetery. Mr. Calhoun died Sunday, January 10, 1993 in Missouri City, Texas after a sudden illness. He was born in DeRidder, La., was formerly of Shreveport most of his life and had resided in Missouri City, Texas for three years. Mr. Calhoun was a retired District Chief for the Shreveport Fire Department . He was a member of Eldridge Road Church of Christ, where he was a Deacon and in charge of the Benevolent Fund at the church, he worked with a youth group. Mr. Calhoun did upholstery work for 45 years and was a veteran of the U. S. Army, World War II. He is survived by his wife, Vera Jo Biggs Calhoun of Missouri City, Texas; one daughter, Kitty C. O'Cain and husband, Richard B. of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two step-sons, Ted Bradford of Tatum, Texas, Robert D. Bradford and wife, Maggie of Missouri City, Texas; two brothers, Otis Calhoun and Richard Calhoun both of Shreveport; nine nephews, ten nieces, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Elwin Partin, Waymon Wren, Pete Patterson, E. B. Jones, Harold Biggs, Ted Bradford, Herman Hawkins, LeRoy Elolf and honorary pallbearer, Mark Mira. The family suggests memorials may be made to Eldridge Road Church of Christ Benevolent Fund, Sugar Land, Texas.
