Bio
Julia Elizabeth Austin was the daughter of Lawthan McGehee Austin and Virginia C Wiggs Austin. She was born in Arkansas. She married Adolph William Lehman, the son of Hermann Gerhardt Lehman and Annie Muesse Lehman, he was born at the old homestead in Bastrop County, Texas. Julia and Adolph lived in San Antonio, Texas when they first married, before moving to Lubbock, Texas when Adolph went to work for Julia's father at Mac Austin Company. Later Adolph sold his interest and they moved to Denver, Colorado where Adolph invested in another industrial contractors supply business until he retired due to illness. Julia was an artist and worked for the Bureau of Reclamation in Loveland, Colorado. Julia painted several murals in their facilities along the Big Thompson Canyon for their water project. She lived in the house she and Adolph purchased in the early 1970's when they moved to Colorado and died quietly at home with her daughter, son and daughter in law at her side. She suffered from cancer. Her parents, husband and brother Hank preceded her in death. Julia is survived by 2 sons, a daughter, 2 daughters in law and 1 son in law, along with 4 grandchildren, 2 of which are married, and one great grandchild.
