Bio
Geraldine M. Haskovec, 79, passed away at Legend Oaks of Ennis on Saturday, August 27, 2011. Geraldine was born in Ennis, Texas, on August 21, 1932 to Joe and Julie (Holy) Zmolik. She grew up in Ennis and graduated from St. John High School. On January 5, 1952 she married Edwin Anton Haskovec and they made their home in Ennis. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, KJZT #16, The Alter Society and Catholic Daughter's. She loved to cook and crochet. She was well known for her beautiful crochet pieces she donated to the St. John Bazaar each year. She is survived by her sons: Edwin Lee Haskovec and his wife, Sherry, Randy J. Haskovec and his wife, Carrie along with Patrick A. Haskovec all of Ennis; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five brothers: Jerry, Benny, Jimmy and Larry Zmolik all of Ennis along with Jodie Zmolik of Mesquite , and one sister: Joan Nors of Ennis. She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin Haskovec on February 18, 2002, one brother, Luke Zmolik and one sister Etheline Sylvester. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 from 6 until 8 pm with Rosary at 7 pm at the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. A Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 10 am in the St. John Catholic Church of Ennis with Father John Dick as celebrant. Pallbearers will be Derek Haskovec, Aaron Haskovec, Kyle Haskovec, Zac Moody, Adam Cervantes and Jared Novy. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery of Ennis under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society or St. John Catholic Church.
