George P. Clayton was born at Fort Fetterman Nov. 25, 1887 the son of George P. and Jennie S. Clayton. He spent his boyhood in and near Glenrock and attended Glenrock schools. On June 21, 1923 he married Ruth Bobp at Douglas. He homesteaded in the Boxelder community and was later city marshal at Glenrock for a number of years. For the past 25 years he had been with the Texas Co. He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of the V.F.W. post and the Glenrock Odd Fellows Lodge. Mr. Clayton died on a vacation trip to California while visiting the Fenex home in Santa Maria, California. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; a son, Don of Cody; two brothers, Earl S. of Douglas and Verne of Idaho City, Ida.; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Hajny of Longmont, Colo., and Mrs. Velma Hansen of Denver, and two grandchildren.
