Bio

He was known as "MC" (em-cee). His first name was Malcolm. He may have had two middle names; one of them may have been McNichols His other middle was Clarence. So his nickname was his initals, M.C. He served in the Civil War: COMPANY M, 27TH TEXAS CAVALRY REGIMENT: GWIN, MALCOMB C. He served with his brother Thomas J. Gwin, who was also a member of the same unit. He died in 1862 in Iuka, Mississippi, fighting in the Battle of Iuka, during the Civil War.
