The Oklahoman, Monday, Nov 8, 1948: Funeral rites for Mrs Bessie Jane Thorn, 61, of 1523 W. Main, will be at 2 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Perrine Funeral Home with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs Thorn, a city resident 25 years, died Sunday morning in Mercy Hospital following an illness of six months. She came to Oklahoma City from Sayre. Born in Texas, she was a member of the Second Methodist Church, and the Royal Neighbors Club. Survivors include her husband, George W. Thorn, home address; three daughters, Mrs Audrey Markham, Kansas City, MO; Mrs Jewel Moss, San Francisco; and Mrs Eunice McAllister, 8501 NW 18; a son, H. G. Markham, Dallas; a sister, Mrs Berta Riley, home address; two brothers, H. T.
