L. Markham, 50, 2112 SW 20th-st, a Rock Island railroad employe, who died at his home Wednesday night of heart disease, will be sent Saturday to Sayre, Beckham County. Services will be arranged by Watts & MeAtee Funeral Home. Mr. Markham died shortly after he returned from an auto ride with his step-son, Carl Thorne, 2242 SW 20th-st. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Dora Markham: three daughters, Miss Jewell Markham and Mrs. Audrey McGowen, both of San Francisco, and Miss Eunice, of the home address; and his mother, Mrs. Lillie Dotson, of Amarillo, Tex. The Sayre Daily Headlight-Journal, Sayre, Oklahoma · Friday, February 12, 1937 pg 1 MARKHAM FUNERAL TO BE SATURDAY Kin of Sayre Woman Succumbs In Oklahoma City Thursday: Burial to Be at Delhi Last rites for Bert Markham, brother-in-law of Mrs. J. A. Phillips of Sayre, will be held at special services at the Sayre-Doxey cemetery at 10 o'clock Saturday morning. Mr. Markham, who resided at 2112 S. W. 20th street, Okla City, succumbed Thursday after a prolonged illness. He was 52 years of age. Funeral services for the deceased were held at 4 o'clock Friday afternoon from the Exchange Avenue Baptist church in Oklahoma City. Burial rites here Saturday will be held under the direction of the Moore Funeral home. Mr. Markham is survived by his wodow, Mrs. Bert Markham; and three daughters, Mrs. Audrey McGowen, Miss Jewell Markham, and Miss Eunice Markham, of Oklahoma City. L. B. Alder in charge. Markham died with heart trouble at Oklahoma City, his home, Feb. 10 at the age of 52. He was a member of the Baptist church and is survived by his wife and three daughters.
