Atkinson Graphic Private Robert Wayne Miller, 19, U.S. Marine Corps, was killed in action March 7 on the island of Iwo Jima. He was an expert mortar gunner and also proficient as a machine gunner. He had been in the Marines about a year, went overseas last November. Surviving him are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude I. Miller who live on a farm 11 1/2 miles northeast of here; four brothers and three sisters, Rev. Wm C. Miller, Miltonvale, Kansas, James E., Walter A. and Keith E. all of Atkinson; Helen V. Miller of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., Dorothy H. and Ruth A., of Atkinson. One sister, Ruby E., died in 1939.
