Excerpts from the Monticello Daily-Herald Journal, Thurs., Aug. 6, 1981: Mrs. Laura C. Sickler, 85, formerly of Rt. 1, Reynolds, passed away at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at Parkview Haven Nursing Home, Francesville, where she had been for one year. She had been in ill health for the past 18 monts. Mrs. Sickler was born in Honey Creek Township January 15, 1896, the daughter of Joseph F. and Flora M. (Veatch) Kellenburger and was married in Reynolds, November 29, 1916 to Cecil Sickler, who preceded her in death May 10, 1978. She was a member of the Guernsey Church of the Brethren and a life time resident of the comunity. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Alma Bridge, Mrs. Edna Gwin, and Mrs. Ruby Logan; four sons, Ross, Clyde, Russell, and Floyd Sickler; 21 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and a sister Flossie McCray. A son, a daughter, two grandchildren and one great grandchild are deceased. Funeral services at Guernsey Church of the Brethren with burial to be in Bedford Cemetery.
