Verna Sorrells Ferguson June 22, 1937 — January 29, 2025 Longview, Texas Croley Funeral Home Verna Gardenia Sorrells Ferguson, a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025, in Longview, Texas. Born on June 22, 1937, in Gilmer, Texas, to Carl and Berta Sorrells, Verna was known for her sweet spirit and ability to bring joy into the lives of everyone she met. Throughout her life, Verna took pride in her role as a dedicated mom and enjoyed every moment spent with her grandchildren, who were truly her biggest pride and joy. She was also well-known for her fantastic cooking skills, often whipping up delicious meals that brought family and friends together. Verna shared many happy years with her husband, Charles Ferguson, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime. A truly caring person, Verna was always there to lend a helping hand or offer a warm smile to those in need. Verna is survived by her daughter, Loretta Ward; son, Ronnie Ferguson; daughter-in-love, Darla Ferguson; grandchildren, Jake Ferguson, Cody Ferguson and wife Samantha, Trent Ward, and Troy Ward; great-granddaughter, Hadley Ferguson; as well as many other beloved family and friends. Verna is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Ferguson as well as her parents, Carl Sorrells and Berta Monk Sorrells. A funeral service will be held at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater, Texas on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 10 o'clock in the morning with interment to follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Longview, Texas. As we remember Verna, let's carry forward her kindness and the many lessons she taught us about love, family, and community. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
