Estalee Brinkley, 88, Lawton OK, died Aug. 12, 2011, in a Lawton care center. Mrs. Brinkley was born Nov. 5, 1922, in Tishomingo OK to Vardie and Lucy (Neely) Keenon. She grew up near Fletcher OK and married Johnnie Dalton Brinkley on Jan. 31, 1939, in Sterling OK. She was primarily a homemaker, but during World War II worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" making radiators for airplanes. She had been a Lawton resident since 1945. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and needlepoint and was an avid reader. Mrs. Brinkley had been a member of the Square Toppers square dance club and was a past secretary-treasurer for the South Central District. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters Linda Brinkley of Burkburnett TX, and Donna and husband Nick Durbin of Lawton; son John and wife Nancy Brinkley of Lawton; 9 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother Lavern and wife Maxine Keenon of El Reno OK; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 1980. Her son Gerald Wayne Brinkley, brother Delbert Keenon, and sister Margaret Beth Shawn also preceded her in death.
