Loydie G. "Buck" Tiedt, 88, of La Grange, Texas, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2010, at his home in La Grange. Buck was born in Rutersville, Texas, on June 12, 1922, the son of the late Fritz and Anna (Marquart) Tiedt. He married Georgie Vasek on April 8, 1944 in Georgia before being deployed with the US Army to the European Theater during WWII. He is survived by his sons: Bob Tiedt and wife, Margie, and Harold Tiedt and wife, Barbara, both of Austin; brother, Edgar Tiedt of Swiss Alp; sister, Thelma Baca of La Grange; grandchildren: Ryan Tiedt and wife, Anne; Brett Tiedt and wife, Tammy; and Courtney Tiedt; great grandchildren: Elizabeth, Matthew and Peyton Tiedt; and numerous nieces and nephews. Buck was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 34 years, Georgie (Vasek) Tiedt. Funeral Services with Military Honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Sid Roden officiating. Interment will follow at the La Grange City Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home, 208 W. Pearl Street, La Grange, Texas.
