Bio
Emma Sagert was born in Green Garden Township, Will County, Illinois to William Theodor Elias and Louisa Maria Charlotte Schroeder Sagert on January 16, 1878. She was the second of four children. She met William Christian Cords (who came to the United States 1887) and they married on March 6, 1895. Together she and William had seven children and all reached adulthood. She and her sister, Anna Mary married brothers. Anna married Chris Cords. On both the 1920 and the 1930 censuses, she and William were listed as farming. She lived in Yutan, NE until 1901 and then moved to Leshara, NE. William preceded her in death in 1950. Sadly Emma's mother Louisa, was killed in the 1913 tornado along with her three grandchildren who were Fred and Minnie Heyen's children. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ May your spirit be with the Lord
